The extrusion process forces a material (metal or plastic) through a die with a specific opening to create a continuous profile or object with a fixed cross-section. It works by applying immense pressure to a billet within a chamber, causing the material to flow and take the die's shape. It is capable in producing complex forms with excellent surface finish, commonly seen in aluminum heatsinks, frames and housings.
